May 21, 2005 (PRLEAP.COM) Entertainment News
On the May 12 episode of the Tonight Show with Jay Leno, the popular comedian Larry the Cable Guy proudly wore a camouflage “Support Our Troops” wristband from the Bands For Freedom Foundation.

Larry joins other popular country personalities such as Charlie Daniels, Toby Keith, Mark Wills and Darryl Worley in support of the U.S. troops via the Armed Forces Relief Trust (AFRT). These and many other stars are featured wearing patriotic silicone wristbands on the Hero’s Page of the Bands For Freedom Foundation Web site at http://www.bandsforfreedom.com/en/heroes.php.

His country bumpkin, hee-haw, blue-collar humor and accent have set Larry the Cable Guy apart as a must-see performer in venues around the nation. He has single-handedly popularized the phrase “Git-R-Done,” and has entertained countless fans with his redneck antics on his latest CD “The Right To Bare Arms.” Larry stars alongside Jeff Foxworthy and Bill Engvall on the WB’s popular comedy, “Blue Collar TV” which can be seen on Thursday nights.

“If you’re not a redneck you might not know who Larry is, but once you watch him do his thing you’re a fan for life,” said Steve Cloward, CEO of the Bands For Freedom Foundation. “Larry is one of the nation’s most vocal patriots and we are thrilled to have him on-board.”

The wristbands come in both youth and adult sizes and can be purchased at www.bandsforfreedom.com. Bands For Freedom wristbands are similar to those made popular by the Lance Armstrong Wear Yellow Live Strong Foundation. These patriotic silicone wristbands were created to bolster support for the war on terror and U.S. troops who sacrifice for freedom.
