Randy Couture to be honored at the 2007 Masters Hall of Fame for his outstanding achievements in the Martial Arts.


(PRLEAP.COM) Costa Mesa, CA June 18, 2007- Randy Couture to be honored at the 2007 Masters Hall of Fame for his outstanding achievements in the Martial Arts.

It is the Masters Hall of Fame distinct honor and pleasure to announce that Randy Couture has been nominated by Louis Salseda, Masters Hall of Fame Board Member for induction into the 2007 Masters Hall of Fame.

Randy was nominated by Lou Salseda for Randy’s continued Leadership and Devotion to the Martial Arts Community. Randy said he is looking forward to attend this prestigious event and accept his award for Induction.

Randy Couture is an Army Veteran that served the 101st Air Borne as an Air Traffic Controller. As a proud Army Veteran, Randy formed a military support organization, “Xtreme Couture GI Foundation” that is dedicated to supporting the military heroes that risk their lives, day and day out all over the world, www.xtremecouturegifoundation.org <http://www.xtremecouturegifoundation.org>.

Randy achievements did not stop in the Army; he was a semifinalist at the 2000 Olympic Trials for Greco-Roman wrestling, as well as a three-time United States Olympic Greco-Roman wrestling team alternate. Randy was a three-time National Collegiate Athletic Association D-I All-American; and a two-time NCAA finalist. Randy also has served as an assistant wrestling and strength conditioning coach at Oregon State University.

After a successful amateur career, Randy entered the UFC in 1997 were he has dominated for the last 10 year. Randy is the only 5 time UFC Champion and the only UFC Champion that has held Championships in two weight classes; and Randy Couture is the current UFC Heavy Weight Champion at the age of 43.
