(Nashville, Tennessee — June 17th, 2007) Australian newcomer Morgan Evans made the most of his time in Music City, appearing at the unofficial kick off to the CMA Music Festival (The Fourth Annual CMA Global Artist Party) and the official closing show at L.P. Field.

Evans, winner of Australia's Telstra Road to Tamworth competition appeared at the Global Artist Showcase. CMA Music Festival Executive, Tony Conway of Buddy Lee Attractions was in attendance, and was impressed with Evans' performance. On Sunday, the closing day of the festival, Tony offered Evans the opening acoustic performance slot after it became available due to a cancellation. Conway said "When our opening act couldn't perform due to scheduling conflicts, I immediately thought of Morgan. I called him to come to the stadium to perform with very little notice, and he knocked it out of the park."

Between these book-end performances, Evans had a very busy week. He performed at the Greased Lightning Daily Stages at Riverfront Park (also part of the Telstra prize package), signed autographs in the Fan Fair Exhibit Hall and collaborated with several Nashville songwriters including Beeb Birtles (formerly of Australian group Little River Band). Morgan also recorded a single for Sony/BMG Australia at Nashville's Fun House studio with producer Mark Moffatt. The single is scheduled for September release in Australia.

Between the Global Artist Party, the Greased Lightning Daily Stages, and Sunday's Nightly Concert, Evans connected with thousands of new fans.

"This experience has been amazing and full of great opportunities. I am overwhelmed with the amount of support I have received from all the country music fans during the festival. I wish I didn't have to go home so soon, but I will be back," said Evans.

Telstra's Greg Swain who accompanied Morgan on his trip noted, "We are honored to have Morgan in Nashville to partake in all the festivities that surround the week. He is a great young man and very talented musician. Thanks to this wonderful opportunity, Morgan was able to play for the majority of the 191,000 fans who came to the festival."
