ESPRIMO professional PCs are the first to meet more stringent “Blue Angel” criteria

(PRLEAP.COM) Bracknell, UK, June 21, 2007 – The whole range of ESPRIMO professional PCs from Fujitsu Siemens Computers are the first to be awarded the new “Blue Angel” certificate, underlying its position as the technological leader in environmentally conscious IT. Fujitsu Siemens Computers is the only notebook vendor fulfilling the requirements of the “Nordic Swan” label.

The following Business Line models meet the more stringent “Blue Angel” requirements:

The Business Line systems offer optimal performance for the office workplace. The products, developed and produced in Augsburg, Germany, are particularly quiet and have very low power consumption rates.

The new “Blue Angel” guidelines have much more stringent requirements for power consumption levels and ergonomics. The “Blue Angel” environment label carries restrictions on the use of materials harmful to the environment. It also has specific requirements for hardware configuration options and device recycling. A product with the “Blue Angel” label meets all the conditions defined in environment protection and ergonomics.

“Nordic Swan” for LIFEBOOK S7110

The “Nordic Swan” logo has very strict guidelines similar to the “Blue Angel”. Only two notebooks have been certified worldwide with the Scandinavian environment label. Both are products from Fujitsu Siemens Computers: the LIFEBOOK C1410 and recently the LIFEBOOK S7110. The assessment criteria included energy consumption, material selection and noise.

The LIFEBOOK S7110, with a 14-inch screen and a weight of only 1.8 kilograms, is the ideal notebook for business professionals who like to work in comfort while on the move. The LIFEBOOK S7110 is particularly energy efficient; it is equipped with a second battery and the standard-installed EcoButton to run for an entire working day. For example, pressing the EcoButton reduces the processor clock frequency and screen brightness, which extends the battery time by more than ten percent.
