BUSINESS WOMEN OFFER NEW ONLINE MARKETING VENUE

Albuquerque, NM (PRWEB) July 10, 2004 —Home-based business woman, Kim Bloomer, owner of Aspenbloom, has combined talents with Cathy Carlton, owner and operator of Carlton's Corner online along with several other businesses, to form a partnership venture in the competitive arena of online marketing. http://www.KickTheEmailHabit.com is the result of their joint efforts.

Carlton and Bloomer met through the weekly Yahoo web conferences provided for all the publishers on Quikonnex where they both publish their online newsletters in RSS technology. The two soon realized that they are of "like mind" and so decided to combine their talents and launch http://www.KickTheEmailHabit.com to share this new venue with others. A recent article appeared in SEO News Online Newsletter by www.webpronews.com ,"Get Better Search Engine Rankings With RSS" by Satyajeet Hattangadi, which states that
"RSS allows publishers to "syndicate" their content through the distribution of lists of hyperlinks."

Carlton not only publishes Carlton's Corner Ezine on Quikonnex, http://quikonnex.com/channel/page/CarltonsCorner , which is an online resource for internet marketing, motivational, inspirational, coaching and community related topics,
but Carlton is also a full-time IT application manager by day, in addition to serving as webmaster for and managing several part-time home businesses. Carlton's Corner started in July 2002 with just over 30 subscribers and grew to a high of over 18,000 subscribers over the next year and a half. Carlton's Corner began as a typical email publication then moved to an online format with email notifications for each issue due to spam filter issues.

The transition from traditional email marketing and publishing was a rather simple decision for Carlton. After growing email subscribership in her ezine, Carlton's Corner, to over 17,000, Carlton became a target for multiple unfounded spam complaints. "With the new spam laws that went into effect in January 2004, and the rather substantial fines, I simply could not justify the continued risk of incurring fines that were far larger than my monthly income from Carlton's Corner. In spite of my best efforts to stay compliant and provide
100-percent opt-in subscribers, there were always one or two subscribers who 'forgot' about joining. Even though I could substantiate their subscription, I was always approached as guilty until proven innocent", says Carlton. She finally went looking for a better solution to bring quality information to truly interested subscribers." On January 1, 2004, Carlton made a flash cut over to Quikonnex.

So, was it worth risking the loss of subscribers to switch to Quikonnex? "Absolutely! Just the peace of mind I have in knowing that I will never have to answer to another bogus spam complaint, and that I'm no longer paying hundreds of dollars for a list hosting service which takes an unsupportive stance. In the Quikonnex community, I found a camaraderie that simply does not exist in the email publishing world. I was so excited to be "in on"
Quikonnex at the beginning and seeing it grow that I immediately built the initial version of our KickTheEmailHabit.com website in an effort to get the word out about Quikonnex. From the very beginning, I planned to form an publisher advertising cooperative on Quikonnex, but I got sidetracked for a few months, which is just as well, because that's where I met Kim Bloomer. We clicked instantly and it was just natural for us to form an alliance and move forward with the Kick The Email Habit cooperative vision' stated Carlton.

Bloomer, on the other hand had no experience in technology other than using email, shopping, and doing research on the Internet. Bloomer was looking for a way to publish information on holistic pet care to complement her home business in wellness for people and pets. She was growing rather frustrated with all the complications of just getting an ezine
published and sent out to subscribers. Her eyes were wide open and ready to find something that would get the job done without the hassle - if such a thing even existed. Quite by accident as she was submitting one of her articles to an article bank, www.thephantomwriters.com she noticed a banner ad on the website about RSS technology to publish online newsletters without the hassles of email. "It was like Bill Platt, owner of ThePhantomWriters.com, was reading my mind!" laughs Bloomer. "I joined Quikonnex almost immediately and never looked back. I'm really, really glad Bill had that banner on his site!" Bloomer was publishing within hours of joining Quikonnex. Bloomer publishes AspenbloomWellPet, an online guide to holistic pet care www.Aspenbloom-WellPet.com.

Says Carlton, "One thing that's really impressive about Quikonnex, is the dedication and support of the founders, Jim Gray and Carolyn Peltier. In the seven short months since I joined Quikonnex, they have developed a new channel viewer, made improvements to the subscription process, created QuikSteps pages for new subscribers to get step-by-step subscription and start up instructions. In addition, many of the new features added
have been developed with the publisher in mind. They even made it easy for us to syndicate our channels without being high-tech gurus. Gray and Peltier hold a Quikonnex publisher meeting every week, a training session for publishers every week and open training sessions throughout the week, all in the interest of helping their new members. While I do have a technical background, neither of us has to be a technical guru in order to offer our syndicated advertising and to offer our expertise in the area of channel management. We can also do so with absolute certainty that Quikonnex will be around for years to come, supporting our long-term syndicating advertising solutions. "

Bloomer and Carlton built Kick The Email Habit as a joint effort to make it easier for new
Quikonnex publishers to get their ezines online and quickly start earning an income and
to offer more viable options for those accustomed to advertising in traditional ezines.
Unlike the traditional ezine advertising, Kick The Email Habit offers syndication for clients' articles and ads, which will give them search engine and blog attention, plus more permanence of their postings via Quikonnex archives, which remain searchable long after the promo has expired. Furthermore, Kick The Email Habit strongly encourages use of articles instead of the typical "used car salesman" solo ad, so others will want to post the information on their own sites and channels. These are features that email advertising
simply cannot offer today. They look forward to developing new services and expanding advertising and publishing options through KickTheEmailHabit.com as Quikonnex evolves.
