New York, NY – For the second consecutive year, The Henderson International School’s drama troupes will be performing at the National Performing Arts Festival in New York City. The festival will be held on Saturday, March 31st and features some of the nation’s top high school and middle school acting troupes performing selections for a panel of theater experts. Following their performance the Henderson drama troupe will attend a private, interactive feedback clinic. A special awards ceremony recognizing the top performing groups and actors will be held on Sunday, April 1st.

During the festival each theater troupe will also participate in educational seminars on topics such as acting techniques, choreography, and vocal training. The seminars are taught by New York theater professionals.

The Henderson Players are under the direction of Ed Humphrey. During the festival the middle school will perform a selection from “Oliver” and the high school will perform a selection from “The Roar of the Grease Paint, the Smell of the Crowd.” Last year, the Henderson Middle School drama troupe was awarded the prestigious Judges Award for their production of “You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown.”
