Ravenswood Wines Featured at La Casa Dolce Café’s June Wine and Gelato Tasting

(PRLEAP.COM) Tampa, FL June 2007 – The last Thursday of every month, La Casa Dolce Café, located at 406 S. Howard Avenue in Tampa’s Hyde Park, plays host to a unique tasting opportunity as red and white wines are paired with a specially matched selection of Italian desserts, including gelatos and sorbets. The cost to sample all of the pairings is $10 per person. At the next event, scheduled for Thursday, June 28, five pairings will be tasted, all of which feature a different Ravenswood wine from the Vintner’s Blend Collection. The exact pairings for this Wine & Gelato tasting include:

Ravenswood Chardonnay with Mango Sorbet
Ravenswood Merlot with Tuxedo Mousse
Ravenswood Zinfandel with Red Orange Sorbet
Ravenswood Shiraz with Reese’s Gelato
Ravenswood Cabernet with Mint Stracciatella (Chocolate Chip)

The event runs continuously from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m. Attendees can show up any time during those hours and sample the pairings at their own pace. All wines featured that evening are available for sale, with purchases made at the event receiving a special 20 percent discount. All foods and desserts featured are also available for purchase. Gelatos and sorbets can be taken out in convenient pint or quart containers.

For those unfamiliar with gelato, it is Italian for ice cream, but this version of ice cream is made with less than half the fat of the traditional kind. All the gelatos and sorbets at La Casa Dolce Café are made on site using only the freshest seasonal fruits, nuts and chocolates.
