PRLEAP.COM) LOS ANGELES, CA (June 22, 2007) — Actress Jurnee Smollett, known for her roles in films such as “Eve’s Bayou” and “Gridiron Gang” and television’s “Cosby” will receive Women At Risk’s Angel Tribute Award during the 9th Annual Women At Risk Gospel Brunch Fundraiser. A private VIP champagne reception and silent auction will be hosted at the House of Blues’ Foundation Room.
Ms. Smollett, an accomplished NAACP Image Award winning actress and singer has amazed audiences on the big screen and television for many years. Ms. Smollett is dedicated to HIV/AIDS issues in her community but her involvement expands globally as she is also on the Board of Directors of Artists for a New South Africa, a group dedicated to dealing with HIV/AIDS in Africa.
