SANTA MONICA, CA (June 25, 2007) –The Galley Restaurant, a California landmark serving delicious steaks and seafood in Santa Monica for 73 years and named “Best Steak” by Zagat Guide, officially launches a completely redesigned Web site today. The new and improved site, www.thegalleyrestaurant.net, serves as the premier resource for travelers, media and locals to find information on Santa Monica’s oldest restaurant’s latest menu items, upcoming restaurant promotions and local news.

The new Web site now offers customers the opportunity to book their reservations online and subscribe to The Galley’s monthly online newsletter “The Scuttlebutt.” Launching soon, “The Scuttlebutt” will feature highlights of menu items of the month, restaurant promotions, local Santa Monica news and Owner, Captain Ron’s “Joke of the Day.” The site also features new photos and a description of the restaurant’s history including the famous salad dressing story.

Los Angeles Magazine said, “The Galley, since 1934, is one of the few truly classic neighborhood haunts left in L.A." The seafaring interior includes small portholes for windows, a captain's wheel, the South Seas Bar and a patio decorated with fishing net and sea shells. Well preserved memorabilia is displayed on the walls from the “Galley Gang” days of such regulars as Clarke Gable, Errol Flynn, Ann Sheridan, Marilyn Monroe and other notable stars. The Galley is complete with sawdust on the floor, a jukebox of old favorites, and red booths where patrons enjoy candlelight dining and American cuisine.
