Richard Steele will to be honored at the 2007 Masters Hall of Fame for his outstanding achievements

(PRLEAP.COM) Costa Mesa, CA June 26, 2007 -Richard Steele affirms that it is his distinct pleasure to be honored at the Masters Hall of Fame that is being held at the Hilton Hotel in Costa Mesa California on Saturday August 11th, 2007. Richard Steele was selected by the Masters Hall of Fame Board Member Shihan Robert Posslenzny for his continued Leadership and Devotion to the Martial Arts Community.

Richard Steele is a Shodan by the World Combat Academy Institute, and later awarded an honorary 4th degree for his mastery of hand to hand combat. Richard Steele is best remembered as a great former athlete, visionary and community leader. Richard Steele, the World Boxing Hall of Fame Referee has been electrifying audiences for over 40 years, as boxing’s most famous and arguably the finest referee in boxing history. In 1963 and 1964 Richard was “All Marine Corps Champion.” He also competed in the 1964 Olympic Trials with one of his teammates and sparring partners, Ken Norton, who went on to become the Heavy Weight Champion of the World.

Richard Steele began refereeing fights in the 1970’s, and currently maintains the world record of 172 world title fights. In 1974, he refereed his first major fight, when Aaron Pryor knocked out Alexis Arguello in ten rounds. Richard Steele also refereed the legendary battles of “Marvelous” Marvin Haggler and “Hitman” Thomas Hearns, Julio Cesar Chavez vs. Meldrick Taylor I and Sugar Ray Leonard’s epic battle against Marvin Haggler. Richard Steele also refereed exciting bouts with former World Heavy Weight Champion, Mike Tyson and current Junior Welterweight Champion, Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Zapjuda.

Certainly Richard Steele has had experiences as a referee that is unparalleled in the industry’s history. However; his personal crowing achievement is his development of young Americans outside of the ring and Dojo. Richard Steele has managed the “Richard Steele Boxing Club” in various areas in Southern Nevada and has provided a safe place to empower families and future professionals.

The “Richard Steele Boxing Club Team and Martial Arts Team” has won many state and national titles. Richard Steele has used boxing and Martial arts as an incentive to inspire youth to achieve academically and to maintain positive American values.
