MedcomSoft Successfully Secures Healthcare Providers’ IT Investment Through Seamless Conversion of Patient Charts

Milwaukee, Wisconsin, June 27, 2007 – MedcomSoft Inc. (TSX-MSF), a provider of the next generation of interoperable electronic health records (EHR), announced today that it has seamlessly completed the conversion of patients’ clinical records of Southeastern Pediatrics & Adolescent Medicine (“Southeastern Peds”), a 12-physician pediatric practice, from a competitor’s EMR system to MedcomSoft Record. All of the Medcin® based clinical data and all scanned documentation and images were fully converted - including having previously scanned documentation and images fully linked to the applicable patient chart in MedcomSoft Record.

Southeastern Peds is based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and is a part of the Independent Physicians Network, Inc. (“IPN”) community. The principal doctor at Southeastern Peds, Dr. Noemi Prieto, is also the Executive Vice-President of IPN. Southeastern Peds was previously using another EMR/PM system and was a reference site for the vendor of that system. “We switched to MedcomSoft because of their commitment to customer service - which they clearly exhibited during the implementation; and their strong relationship with the IPN; and the superiority of the functionality of their product, including their unique and robust implementation of Medcin,” stated Dr. Prieto. “Moving to MedcomSoft Record, a leading Medcin based product, also allowed for the seamless conversion of our patient data and documentation.”

MedcomSoft Record, which is believed to be the first truly interoperable EMR, is built entirely around Medcin, the most comprehensive point of care vocabulary available in the market today. MedcomSoft’s unique cross-mapping between the Medcin terminology, drug brand names and diagnostic laboratory results provides unprecedented homogeneous patient charts. Automatic linking to other standard terminologies such as CPT®, ICD-9-CM, LOINC® and SNOMED® provides a flexible platform for data exchange and compatibility with other systems and standards.

“MedcomSoft’s success at the conversion of Southeastern’s data is another demonstration of the superior interoperability of MedcomSoft Record and shows the significant benefit of utilizing Medcin,” stated Dr. Aita, the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of MedcomSoft.
