Mouser Electronics, Inc., known for its rapid introduction of the newest products, today announced it has signed a distribution agreement with Wolfson Microelectronics plc, a leading global provider of high-performance, mixed-signal semiconductors to the consumer electronics market. Wolfson audio ICs process highly complex digital information into signals that the real world can hear. Their devices are an essential component in many of the world’s most successful digital consumer goods, including mobile phones, MP3 players, digital cameras, flat panel televisions and in-car infotainment systems. Mouser will stock Wolfson’s CODECs, ADCs, DACs, and evaluation boards.

Julian Hayes, Vice President of Marketing and Applications at Wolfson Microelectronics, commented, “We supply high-performance ICs to a wide variety of customers and we believe that Mouser will assist us by distributing our products to these customers as quickly and efficiently as possible. Our agreement with Mouser is complementary to our existing distribution channels, and will enable us to reach our customer base effectively”.

According to Mike Scott, Mouser Vice President of Active Products, the distribution agreement with Wolfson capitalizes on Mouser’s core competencies of rapid product introduction, extensive stocking, and promotion of the newest products to the design engineering community.

“We are pleased to add Wolfson Microelectronics’ prestigious brand of innovative mixed-signal products to our linecard,” Scott said, “allowing us to continue delivering our customers a faster time-to-market for their new design projects.”

The distributor’s broad-based product line, unsurpassed customer service, and streamlined warehouse operations make Mouser the design engineer’s one-stop shop for all the board-level components and associated development tools necessary for total project design.

Mouser Electronics, the fastest growing catalog distributor in the electronics industry, is the only major distributor to publish a new 1,850+ page print catalog every 90 days. In addition, its website is updated daily, contains more than 845,000 products for easy online purchase, and provides over 1.5 million cross-references, as well as more than 677,000 downloadable data sheets.
