Holonyx, Inc.’s R. Michael Mahoney publishes leading edge manufacturing process improvement paper

Michael Mahoney of Holonyx, Inc. has had his paper titled “Holonics – The Key to 21st Century Manufacturing Competitiveness” accepted for publication in the proceedings of the First Asia-Pacific Conference on Manufacturing System scheduled for September 5-6, 2007 in Bali, Indonesia.

Holonics is a systems-based approach to organizational and operational improvement and is especially applicable to high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environments. Applied in these environments, it can deliver significant improvements in manufacturing efficiency and effectiveness and provide immediate improvements to the bottom line of the business.

R. Michael Mahoney is a leading thinker on high-mix strategy, and the author of the college text High-Mix, Low-Volume Manufacturing, published through Hewlett-Packard Press by Prentice-Hall © 1997. He has published numerous articles in the trade press on subjects relating to product design, process design, test and total quality control. Mahoney has over two decades of experience in high-mix manufacturing environments of Hewlett-Packard Company with broad experience from the customer site through product development to the factory floor. A guru of manufacturing strategy, Mahoney developed the Multiple Constraint Synchronization ™ algorithm.

Mike is recognized in the International Who’s Who of Professionals for his contributions in production and inventory management and is a Fellow of the American Production and Inventory Control Society. He is a member of the Association for Manufacturing Excellence (AME), the American Society for Quality (ASQ), the Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (INFORMS), the Institute of Industrial Engineers (IIE), the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE), and the American Management Association.
