Voice of Country Making History

(PRLEAP.COM) (NASHVILLE, TN — June 30th, 2007) The recently launched Voice of Country (VOC) is making history as the first Nashville based radio service to service 24 hours of country music daily directed to a targeted audience in the United Kingdom.

Created by the team behind the UK’s multi-award winning 3C radio station, Voice of Country offers listeners a chance to be a part of today’s hottest country music, interviews, and information through online streaming, podcasts and listener e-newsletters.

Pat Geary serves as Director of Programming and Barry O’Neill is Director of Business and Creative Services. Their goal is to engage listeners by allowing them to become an integral part of the programming decisions through the online social networking community that they have created at www.voiceofcountry.com.

In its short time on the air, the service has received responses from listeners worldwide. According to Geary, "UK Country fans want to get close to the artists and the music. That’s why we’ve set up in Nashville. Our goal is to make Voice of Country’s listeners feel as connected to the Country music community as if they lived here themselves."

O’Neill adds, "As well as bringing Country music to UK fans, we want to give Country artists access to the evergrowing worldwide market by bringing our listeners to their doorstep. We feel that Voice of Country will facilitate this."
