Preservation Hall's new box CD 'Made in New Orleans' is actually all made in New Orleans. It includes historical treasures about Preservation Hall and Preservation Hall Jazz Band. The new CD will be available on line at the band's web site http://www.preservationhall.com starting July, 2007.

Mr. Ben Jaffe, artistic director of Preservation Hall shared with ART+ how Hurricane Katrina's affected the band and led to the release of their new CD, Made in New Orleans, to commemorate and preserve its 47 year music history. Hurricane Katrina destroyed the homes of five of the band's members and led to closing Preservation Hall's building for eight months. The building re-opened in May, 2006 to a limited performance schedule.

Mr. Jaffe described his and his wife’s efforts to lead in raising public awarness for the need of artstic and cultural projects after Hurricane Katrina. He also described their efforts to help musicians and artists in New Orleans after Katrina.

Ben Jaffe also discussed Preservation Hall’s tour this summer which included performances in London with Allen Toussaint and will include the band's annual performance at the Robert Mondavi Winery on June 30, in San Francisco on July 1, in Los Angeles on July 5th and Irvine on July 6th.
