Businesses across the country seek to leave a much smaller eco footprint than ever before

Eco friendly products have long been associated with such ideas as composting, recycling and more. For the first time an eco-friendly designation (Energy Star) has been awarded to a USB Flash Drive Company Flash Drive Direct.

In an independent study by CR on-line magazine (Consumer Reporters) it was found that the Flash Drives designed by Flash Drive Direct on average used approximately the same amount of energy (petrochemicals and electrical energy) to produce their drives housings as it took to produce a blank CD, however, the energy used to burn a 1 time use CD was 10 times more than that used to transfer the same information onto a Flash Drive Direct unit.

“Considering that CD’s are 85% used in business as a 1 time transfer of data the idea of a re-usable Flash Drive means that the 1000% figure could easily be met in terms of energy efficiency”. “The CD’s days are numbered, the Flash Drive not only makes economic and eco sense it makes great business sense.” John Graham, North American head of Flash Drive Direct states.

Graham goes on to say “ With company’s wanting more green in their corporate culture, the Flash Drive makes huge sense. Not only does the manufacture of a CD and a Flash Drive take about the same energy use, it is the energy expounded in burning CD’s vs. the seamless data transfer to a Flash Drive which makes it over 1000% more eco efficient. Multiply the effects of the eco-savings by the millions of burned CD’s and there is an enormous reduction in the environmental footprint”.

Flash Drive Directs proprietary technology has lowered the power required to transfer data leaving less of an environmental footprint. This has earned it the Energy Star designation.
