Sugar Land, TX – After months of waiting, the residents of Sugar Land finally have a Dessert Gallery Bakery & Café they can call their own. Houston’s premier dessert bakery, which has captured the hearts and sweet tooths of Houstonians since 1995, opened the doors to its Sugar Land store on July 1. Located at 2260 Lone Star Drive in Sugar Land Town Square, it is the first store outside of the Houston city limits and the third store owned and operated by award-winning pastry chef Sara Brook.
“For years our customers have asked us to open a location here and we truly cannot think of a more perfect place to be,” said Brook. “It’s been said that Dessert Gallery is the sweetest thing to hit Sugar Land since Imperial Sugar moved here in 1917.”

The 2700-square-foot restaurant, created by Mirador Group & Mirador Interiors, features a contemporary design in bright, bold colors with artsy black and white images of Dessert Gallery’s popular desserts. Three beautiful dessert cases showcase rich, nostalgic, All-American cakes, cookies, brownies and more, all made from scratch and with premium ingredients, the old-fashioned way. Besides café and patio seating, the new Dessert Gallery features a second-story lounge that overlooks the restaurant and can be reserved for small private parties. The extraordinary five-foot chandelier that hangs above a circular booth in a cozy back corner captures your eye when you walk through the door.

Similar to the Upper Kirby and Galleria locations, the Sugar Land store features a mesmerizing video loop of desserts in the making. Wireless internet is available free.

In addition to decadent desserts, Dessert Gallery offers an array of signature sandwiches, wraps, soups salads, boxed lunches and party trays. The Sugar Land location will also provide catering and delivery services to local businesses.

Through July 3, Dessert Gallery is joining Impact Players Partners, a non-profit organization, to support the brave young men and women severely wounded in Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom through a 10-day “Cupcakes for a Cause” campaign. They will generously donate 10 percent of all cupcake sales to help provide emotional and financial support for soldiers wounded in Iraq and Afghanistan. Cupcakes may be purchased at all three Dessert Gallery locations.

Store hours are Sunday noon – 9 p.m., Monday through Thursday 11 a.m. – 9 p.m., Friday & Saturday 11 a.m. - midnight. Dessert Gallery is closed on July 4. For more information visit www.dessertgallery.com.
