BCI’s Wing Ding helps organization provide employment opportunities for the disabled

(PRLEAP.COM) July 6, 2007: ST. CHARLES, Mo. — Wings, beer and helping support a local organization. These elements combine to create one of the most successful – and enjoyable – fundraisers in St. Charles County.

This year’s 9th Annual Wing Ding attracted the largest group in the event’s history - 4,239 supporters. BCI holds the event annually to raise money for the BCI Foundation, which helps the organization continue to employ individuals with disabilities.

“Our loyal donors and volunteers helped make this year’s Wing Ding a huge success,” Chuck Blossom, Executive Director of BCI, said. “Their support helps BCI continue to provide meaningful work for disabled individuals in St. Charles County.”

More than 20 local restaurants donated food for the Wing Ding and many local businesses sponsored the event. Ethyl’s Wildwood and Brewskeez tied for the Best Wing Award, and B. Halls Bar & Grill came in second. The People’s Choice award went to Ethyl’s – by only one vote. Main Street Diner won the Sportsmanship Award. See below for a complete list of partners who helped make the BCI Wing Ding possible.

BCI provides meaningful employment opportunities for more than 200 individuals with mental and physical disabilities in St. Charles. The organization’s new CEO program will provide community-based employment opportunities for disabled individuals throughout St. Louis. BCI and its employees help local companies and companies across the country compete internationally by providing contract packaging services. BCI’s logo embodies its goal: to merge a successful business with a social service mission. Call 636-978-4300 or visit www.boonecenter.com for more information.
