ROCHESTER, N.Y., July 5, 2007 – Semrock, Inc., the leading manufacturer of quality optical filters for the Biotech and Analytical Instrumentation markets, today announced the release of its new 56-page full-color 2007-2008 catalog. This catalog presents six product families for applications ranging from fluorescence instrumentation and microscopy to Raman spectroscopy and other laser analytical instrumentation, augmented by a series of helpful technical notes of a tutorial nature. Over 50 new products and 5 new in-depth Technical Notes were added to the hundreds of products and many notes from the previous catalog released in January 2007.

A major new product line is Semrock’s high-performance RazorEdge Dichroic™ beamsplitters for Raman spectroscopy applications. Representing another Semrock first, these ultrasteep beamsplitters for use at 45° incidence boast a guaranteed transition from high reflection to high transmission in less than 1% of the laser wavelength, regardless of polarization – far steeper than anything else available on the open market. This patent-pending new filter family is perfectly matched to Semrock’s popular normal-incidence RazorEdge ultrasteep long-wave-pass filters and high-transmission MaxLine laser-line clean-up filters. And Semrock’s recently introduced ultraviolet filter capability has enabled the introduction of more exciting filters for this wavelength range, including an unprecedented 224.3 nm RazorEdge filter for efficient deep UV Raman spectroscopy!

The 2007-2008 catalog also highlights a host of new BrightLine products specifically for fluorescence, including state-of-the-art microscopy filter sets for quantum dot nanocrystals, for FRET (fluorescence resonance energy transfer) imaging, and for near-infrared fluorophores, plus an expanded range of superb filters and sets for multiband and multiphoton imaging.

All Semrock catalog products ship quickly – most from stock.
