When asked why this book is different than others, Janet Goliger replied, "Children want and need to feel empowered. Learning simple yet effective ways to defend themselves in any threatening situation and practicing survival skills regularly will give them this confidence. "I Need to be SAFE: I'm Worth It!" is a unique approach to self-defense that gives children the necessary safety tools they need to be safe in any threatening situation, and it shows parents how to work with their children using the step-by-step pictures and captions for each of the 32 physical self-defense techniques." Goliger also said, “this book makes it easy and fun to understand and learn how NOT to be the next victim, while learning in a non-threatening environment. The key to a child's survival is the ability to recognize danger before something happens, and the ability to flee if attacked by surprise. Children need to be more aware and ready to take action. Children must fight back."
