S.704, also known as "The Truth In Caller ID Act of 2007" is a bill that was recently passed by the House of Representatives and the Senate’s Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation. The bill aims to "amend the Communications Act of 1934 to prohibit manipulation of caller identification information" but only under certain circumstances when the caller has "the intent to defraud, cause harm, or wrongfully obtain anything of value."
