Rackspace appoints EMEA Managing Director

Rackspace Managed Hosting, the UK’s most recommended hosting provider, today announced the appointment of Doug Loewe as Managing Director, Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). Loewe joins Rackspace Managed Hosting from iPass, where he was Vice President and Managing Director, EMEA. He will be responsible for leading the growth of Rackspace’s business operations in the UK, and expansion activities into Continental Europe. He brings over 20 years of commercial and management experience in the internet and telecommunications industries to Rackspace.

Lanham Napier, President and Chief Executive Officer at Rackspace Managed Hosting, said: “Doug joins Rackspace at a time of significant business growth and his business expertise will help us realise our expansion plans across Europe. His track record of driving business growth and leading global teams will make him a great leader for Rackspace. Jacques Greyling, who has done an incredible job over the last 12 months helping us to maintain 80% year over year growth, will be moving to the role of Operations Director, enabling him to focus on the technical side of the business and developing Fanatical Support.”

Before joining iPass, Loewe held various executive positions with Cable & Wireless, Genuity, WorldCom, UUNET, and CompuServe. Lowe holds an MBA from the University of Chicago and a BSBA degree in Business/Computer Science from The Ohio State University.
