Law Enforcement Group Joins Effort To Delete Online Predators

(PRLEAP.COM) The Police News site, PervPatrol.com, calls for the passage of pending anti-predator legislation. In a report issued to the United States Senate, the law enforcement news site, PervPatrol.com urged congress to pass the Deleting Online Predators Act of 2007, introduced by Senator Ted Stevens (R-AK).

Over 50,000 predators are on the Internet prowling for young victims at any time, per the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

The Deleting Online Predators Act of 2007, would require:

* Schools and libraries that receive federal funding to block children’s access to social networking websites or chat rooms unless supervised.

* The creation of an online clearinghouse website to educate parents, teachers, and students about the potential dangers of social networking sites and chat rooms.

* The FTC to issue consumer alerts regarding dangerous sites and suspicious activity, for parents and teachers.

While school children explore the Internet, the law enforcement group’s report to congress stated, it is up to the congress to make sure online predators are not prowling the classrooms and libraries of our nation’s schools.
