The John R. McAdams Company, Inc. Adds GIS Technology/Expert

McAdams Company, Inc., a 175-person land development design firm with offices in Durham and Charlotte, recently employed Donald Sewell as GIS Manager in their Durham headquarters. Sewell is responsible for managing all GIS technology related projects. Acquiring Sewell’s experience with GIS at McAdams is another step the Company’s Land Planning Department http://www.johnrmcadams.com/services/land-planning , now with 28 employees, has taken to enhance its already comprehensive services in the industry. McAdams Company now provides a full continuum of GIS-related services including Site Selection Assistance, Preliminary Site Analysis, Due Diligence, Site Visualization, 3-D Modeling, and Property Information Analysis.

Mr. Sewell holds over 10 years’ experience in GIS application development, web development, project management, analysis, and GIS team leadership. His expertise includes Geographic Information System Integration, Web Application Development, Application Architecture Strategy, Database Analysis, Systems and Data Modeling, Development and Management, Application Programming, GIS Training, Software Development Planning, and Remote Sensing.

Before joining McAdams Company, Mr. Sewell utilized his expertise at Nortel Networks, among other companies. Most recently, he spent over 2 years at Zekiah Technologies, where he provided the United States Joint Forces Command GIS support for evaluating events and locations throughout the United States for their potential as a terrorist threat. While at Zekiah, Mr. Sewell was awarded a Certificate of Commendation, by General Honore, Commander SJFHQ-HLS, for outstanding performance as GIS Engineer, Information Technology Directorate, Standing Joint Force Headquarters – Homeland Security. Mr. Sewell also served Loyola Enterprises, managing all US Air Force Air Combat Command and Environmental Toolbox projects.

Mr. Sewell holds a B.S. degree from the University of Central Florida and earned a M.A. in Geography at the University of Wyoming.
