CHRYS YVETTE AND JERRIN L. DELOATCH TO SHOOT THE MOVIE “ALMOST DOESN’T COUNT” IN ST. LOUIS THIS SUMMER
“Almost Doesn’t Count” is slated to begin production in St. Louis, MO in August. The script is helmed by critically acclaimed writer/director Chrys Yvette (A Woman’s Worth, Say, Amen!) and produced by Jerrin L. DeLoatch, President of Serenity Arts & Entertainment. On the heels of debuting their hit national stage play “A Woman’s Worth” starring Dorien Wilson formerly of UPN’s “The Parkers”, and the Queen of Inspiration, Ann Nesby, the writer/producer duo is currently in preproduction on the film. The Movie will be released in the fall of 2007.
"Shooting the movie at home will be special," said Yvette, who was born in St. Louis, MO, on the North Side. "Almost Doesn’t Count” is all about community: it’s being financed creatively with a community collaborative, based on a group of family and friends investing together to make up the full budget for the project. The story is a romantic comedy that the entire family can enjoy. “After working in Hollywood for the past ten years, to return home to shoot “Almost Doesn’t Count” is a dream come true,” says Yvette.
Almost Doesn’t Count will shoot in August, and be released in the fall and distributed worldwide by Serenity Arts & Entertainment. It is a riveting story centered around Kay, the leading lady who falls in love with the idea of having a lavish wedding never realizing that marriage is much more than a fairytale. Kay almost sees her dream come true until reality sets in when her fiancé` ups and leaves without so much as a goodbye. Through faith, hope, and courage she inspires us all to look beyond our present circumstances and overcome our obstacles within.
