Dr. George Bitar Featured in the Latest Issue of Cosmetic Surgery Times Magazine

(PRLEAP.COM) Northern Virginia based plastic surgeon George Bitar, the National Man of the Year 2006 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society was featured in the latest issue of Cosmetic Surgery Times Magazine. The article entitled “Remembering Salwa” focused on Bitar’s main reason for joining the cause to find a cure for blood cancers: His maternal grandmother Salwa who passed away from the disease at a young age. Bitar started his term in July of 2006 when he won the title after raising the highest amount of money among more than 300 candidates nationwide during a 10 week campaign .He then spent a year promoting the society’s work by participating in numerous events such as “Light Night Walk”, The Leukemia and Lymphoma Annual Gala and a local bus campaign. He was also featured in USA Today and guest starred as himself on the popular soap opera “Days of Our Lives”. The article’s publication came at the end of Bitar’s term as Man of the Year as he recently passed on the title to Mr. Patrick Judge.

The article also shed light on Bitar’s Lebanese roots. Born and raised in war torn Beirut, Lebanon, Bitar frequently observed his pediatrician father John taking care of injured children before immigrating to the United States at the age of 16. He received his medical training from the George Washington University Medical School, the Albert Einstein Medical Center, the University of Virginia in Charlottesville and the Charlotte Plastic Surgery Center. To further his cosmetic surgery training he traveled around the world training with six world renowned plastic surgeons including Dr. Ivo Pitanguy in Brasil, Dr. Richard Ellenbogen in Beverly Hills, Dr. Daniel Marchac in Paris, and Dr. Bryan Mendelson in Australia.

Bitar brought his international expertise in plastic surgery to Northern Virginia in 2002 where he founded the Bitar Cosmetic Surgery Institute, now a three office institute with two medical offices in Manassas and Fairfax and a med-spa in Vienna. He heads a fully cosmetic practice, where he performs both surgical and non surgical procedures. His most commonly performed cosmetic surgeries include: suture suspension necklifts, breast augmentations from the armpit, breast lifts, liposuction, abdominoplasties, facelifts, rhinoplasties, and plastic surgery on gastric bypass patients. For patients who are not willing to go under the knife, Bitar and his staff perform numerous non surgical facial rejuvenating procedures ranging from skin care to injectables such as Botox®, Restylane®, Radiesse®, Juvederm® and Perlane®.
