Arsenal of the Alleghenys has launched the newest Civil War artifact store in Gettysburg, PA. Jay and Melanie Thomas, the proprietors, have over 50 years of combined experience collecting artifacts from the Civil War, Indian War, and Victorian eras. Their inventory includes sabers, pistols, rifles, ammunition, accoutrements, daguerreotypes, collectibles, arrowheads, jewelry and accessories. Plus, if you don’t see the special item you seek, chances are they can locate it utilizing their worldwide network of friends and contacts.
Over the span of their careers, the owners have traveled the globe to locate the best quality artifacts for their clientele. The resulting inventory is one that is sure to please all connoisseurs of Civil War artifacts and memorabilia, both beginners and experts alike. Also on display is the largest known saber collection in Gettysburg – that alone is worth a visit.

Their shop is directly across the street from the Gettysburg cemetery, on the south side of town, where the famous Gettysburg Address is reenacted every year. This bustling area has dozens of shops, restaurants, and sights that is very friendly to walkers. No need to drive from one side of town to another. It’s easy to spend the entire day just on South Steinwehr Avenue, also known as Business 15. For those who want to see the battlefield, a tour bus facility is directly across the street from Arsenal of the Alleghenys.
