LUX biotechnology announces appointment to Board of Directors

Edinburgh 20th July 2007 - LUX biotechnology limited (LUX), a specialist developer of light based detection technologies, today announced that Mr Bob Will has been unanimously appointed to its Board of Directors.

Mr. Will joins the Lux Board following a successful career in the oil and gas industry that spans 31 years and many international assignments. Mr. Will played a key role in the development of the cased hole division of the Expro Group, an oilfield services company, initiating and managing operational and cultural change to transform the organisation into a technology based service provider, expanding its global reach along with a 6 fold increase in turnover to £120 million+. He has experience as a company director and founder of SCS Ltd., which applied novel technologies from other sectors to oilfield operations and as Managing Director of Multiline Services helped Schlumberger to establish a leading presence in the fledgling memory logging sector. Previously Mr. Will had managed and run well operations in various global locations for Schlumberger Wireline & Testing, focussing on customer requirements and the introduction of new technologies to the cased hole sector of the industry.

Mr. Will’s appointment strengthens LUX biotechnology’s Board of Directors, where his expertise in the oil and gas industry will be directly applicable to LUX’s operations in that sector.

LUX’s core competencies lie in the rapid development and commercialization of technology with carefully selected partners. The Edinburgh based biotechnology company has seen rapid growth in the last 12 months along with demand for its solutions from diverse sectors including energy, chemical, water quality, medical and life science industries.

Bob Will joined the Expro Group in 1997, working first as a Cased Hole Business Development Manager and then as Cased Hole Director/Client Relationship Director, where he integrated the company’s cased hole services into a single customer-focussed division with a coherent R&D strategy and improved communications and marketing processes. Previously, Mr. Will had been Managing Director of Multi-Line Services Ltd., a Schlumberger subsidiary, and as Founder and Managing Director of S.C.S.
