BOULDER BUSINESSMEN GET DUCATI FACTORY RIDE

(PRLEAP.COM) BOULDER, CO – July 22, 2007 – Three Boulder business owners are representing the United States and Ducati motorcycles as they compete in the annual Centopassi Motomarathon ride through the Alps of Northern Italy and Slovenia. Starting in Bolzano, Italy on July 18th, 140 riders from around the world are attempting to summit 100 mountain passes over four days, traveling through the Dolomites of Northern Italy and into Slovenia.

The race runs through a series of checkpoints on both paved and unpaved roads, with competition judged on timing and ability trials, as well as endurance and navigational challenges (the route was kept secret until race day).

The three-man U.S. team includes Boulder businessmen Paul DiMarchi (long-time executive recruiter and co-owner of Northern Colorado BMW/Ducati Motorcycles), Jon Simisky (real estate development executive, motorcycle racer, and co-owner of the dealership) and John Metzger (CEO and founder of public relations firm Metzger Associates).

“We’re very excited to represent our country as the sole U.S. team,” said DiMarchi. “We’re putting the latest Ducati Multistradas through their paces on this challenging endurance ride.”

“Our team’s experience riding Boulder County’s tight canyons and Colorado’s high passes gives us a competitive edge in mountain motomarathon,” said Metzger. “We appreciate the chance to participate in the premier international event for this growing new sport.”

“We plan on winning,” said former BMW Boxer Cup racer Simisky. “We’re honored to represent Ducati in the world’s premier motomarathon competition.”
