Marc Worth, the internet entrepreneur who built a catwalk in cyberspace to become a multimillionaire, has joined the board of soon-to-be-launched 'social shopping' site OSOYOU.com as Non-Executive Director.

In what will be his first venture since selling his trend forecasting Worth Global Style Network to Emap for £140 million last year, Worth will help launch the multi-million pound site in Europe and the USA.

OSOYOU.com, due to be launched in the UK next month, will be run by former Emap Elan boss Dawn Bebe, who was head hunted for the post by new Web 2.0 fund Bright Station Ventures.

The $100 million internet investment group is run by Dan Wagner and Shaa Wasmund, recently named by Management Today as one of 'Britain's Top 35 Business Women Under 35'.

Wagner said today: "Marc is a very highly regarded entrepreneur in the area of http://www.osoyou.com/ and OSOYOU is a brand focussed specifically on women. It therefore made perfect sense for us to bring Marc on board, to further strengthen our already unique offering to retailers".

http://www.osoyou.com/ aims to combine the current trends for social networking and click-and-buy 'fast fashion', creating the UK's first ever ‘social shopping’ site.

Its 'virtual high street' allows fashionistas to go shopping with friends without leaving their sofa – or for 'cyber-skivers' to fill a gap in their working day with a quick fix of retail therapy.

"You can http://www.osoyou.com/ with your friends in the same way you shop with them offline," says MD Dawn Bebe. "You can create wish lists of items you want to buy, ask your friends to 'rate them or hate them,' and give advice on cheaper alternatives to expensive designer items."

The site's virtual high street will include big-name stores and brands like Kurt Geiger and Figleaves, while an 'OSOME' personal profile section will allow visitors to drag and drop their favourite items into a virtual scrapbook, creating the ultimate shopping wish list to refer to whilst browsing.

Marc Worth and his brother Julian founded the Worth Global Style Network (WGSN) in 1997 with an investment of £1m. Marc started out in business with three staff in London's Baker Street and went on to establish offices in seven cities around the world with 172 employees.

Its 1,500 subscribers, including Marks & Spencer and Giorgio Armani, use the site to glean the latest developments from fashion shows, trade shows and shop fronts worldwide.
