Lindsay Lohan: Can She Recover?

(PRLEAP.COM) Terence McPhaul, Therapist and author of “The Celebrity Psyche” and “The Psychology of Hip Hop”, states “Lohan can recover from her latest debacle, however, dealing with drug addiction and other emotional health concerns requires conscious effort.” “Drug treatment can work, however, one major flaw with drug treatment is that the underlying causes of visible behaviors are not examined in their entirety.”

Last week, Lohan allegedly pursued the mother of her former assistant in a high speed chase through Los Angeles, which resulted in Lohan’s arrest.

McPhaul, who created the “Managing Success and Celebrity” workshops for celebrities, states, “Lohan has experienced extenuating circumstances, even her highly publicized involvement with Wilmer Valderrama when she was a teen, was highly inappropriate, and contributes to her current emotionally fractured state.”

It may appear to some, that celebrity arrests for alcohol abuse, and stints in rehab have become the “in” thing to do. “Britney Spears, Lindsay Lohan, Nicole Richie and Paris Hilton may be the latest Hollywood mini-matrons to have their reputations goaded by a lethal cocktail of bad judgment and simple traffic law, unfortunately, they won’t be the last,” says McPhaul. “Ineffective parenting during childhood and inappropriate extraneous influence from other adults are often the root of these types of behaviors seen in young adulthood.”

The speculation regarding Lohan continues, and it is believed that this could be the end of a successful career. McPhaul contends, “it doesn’t have to be over, Lindsay can fix this, but, if she returns to rehab, it needs to be a rehab program that is not designed to have celebrities circling back repeatedly.”
