A Second Life for Real Estate

Hong Kong, August 02, 2007 - VirtueCode Limited is now officially offering an alternate life for real-life property, by launching a new and unique set of services which integrate the latest online 3D technology, Second Life, with real estate related practices including planning, marketing and interior design. By introducing real-time collaboration into such areas, VirtueCode aims to change these tasks from tedious and resource-consuming to hassle-free and even enjoyable for both consumers and service providers. Imagine breaking down and painting walls, rearranging the living room, then sitting down on a couch and looking how it all turned out, just to decide to change it all completely – all in real-time together with a professional, and without actually having to destroy anyone's property.

"We are not here to develop new technology. There are far more qualified people to do so, and some of them have already done an outstanding job with Second Life. However, technology by itself does not promote the needs of people – services do. We see the great potential which Second Life has for the real estate industry, and are here to put the technology into use where we believe it should be, in order to enhance our customers' (and sometimes their customers) experience while allowing them to achieve better results in less time," said Joshua Shulman, CEO.

VirtueCode builds virtual representations of real estate property based on a floor plan and, if necessary, photographs which are uploaded easily with the online tools specially developed by the company. The three-dimensional models then can be used online for real-time collaborative decision making together with the client, usually a present or future tenant or an investor, in the process of planning a new home, renovating, changing the interior design, implementing Feng Shui principles, or hunting for real estate. The company provides such services for real estate agencies, building contractors, architects, interior design specialists, and Feng Shui consultants, and at the same time it offers private consumers with online interior design and Feng Shui consultation services. A part of VirtueCode's methods are patent pending.

"Today, the work environment between service providers in the field of real estate and their clients lacks efficiency," explained Shulman. "For example, when a real estate agent aids a customer in a search for a new home, it involves driving around and wasting time and money on tours which most of the time turn out to be irrelevant. Sometimes, even that is impossible due to geographical constraints. In the same way, an architect spends unnecessarily valuable time in designing and revising a plan for the customer."

VirtueCode offers end-to-end solutions which include 3D construction, support, instruction, and technical assistance during the use of the virtual models. The 3D models are fully interactive, and can be accessed from anywhere by multiple people. VirtueCode's goal is to allow providers in the entire scope of the real estate industry to involve the customer in an effective decision making process and reach more satisfying results.
