Affected by the MTAS Debacle? Head Down to the BMJ Careers Fair This October!

(PRLEAP.COM) For huge numbers of junior doctors the prospect of finding a job this year is looking extremely bleak thanks to the recent MTAS debacle.

According to the British Medical Association, around 13,000 junior doctors are likely to be jobless by the end of October.

In the context of fears for the future triggered by MTAS, BMJ Careers is planning to run a series of seminars designed to help juniors who do not have training posts lined up.

These will take place at the popular BMJ Careers Fair which is being held this year in London on the 5th and 6th October.

The seminars will focus on a variety of topics including different medical career options and alternatives to traditional routes. Examples of seminar subjects include:

- How to find work or an elective abroad
- Hot topics in foundation applications - MMC
- Hot topics - what’s new for medical trainees in MMC
- What to do with a medical career besides working in the NHS
- Hot topics in specialty training - MMC
- Which specialty is best for you?
- Working abroad for a charity

In addition to its seminar programme, the BMJ Careers Fair will also be running a number of courses (such CV writing and interview skills training) designed to help doctors secure the positions they want.

For just £85 doctors and medical professionals can attend as many of these seminars and courses as they like over the two days.
