August 06, 2007 (PRLEAP.COM) Technology News
RICHMOND, IN – Belden, a world leader in the development of signal transmission solutions for wired and wireless enterprise networks, as well as industrial, broadcast, residential and security markets, recently announced a comprehensive support program designed to ensure that the Belden Wireless Solution meets the ongoing needs of end users, and serves to protect their Wireless LAN infrastructure and investment.

The Belden Wireless Solution Support Program consists of two levels of service/support, including:

Standard Warranty

The Standard Warranty and Technical Support program guarantees the system hardware for a 12-month period and the system software for 90 days from the date of shipment to the system integrator or end user. In addition, the Standard Warranty provides Technical Support via telephone or email for the first six months of Belden Wireless Solution ownership.

ActiveTAC™ Extended Service Program

Designed to provide Belden Wireless Solution end users with additional peace of mind, this extended program provides a hardware warranty of up to three years, as well as a next business day (NBD) Advanced Hardware Replacement Policy for any system hardware that may be required. In addition, the program provides for timely download of all system software patches and updates, a preferred rate on all Belden Professional Services, and Technical Support via telephone or email for the duration of the end user’s ActiveTAC Extended Service Program.

A value-added feature of the Belden ActiveTAC Program is discounted rates on a comprehensive array of Belden Professional Services designed to support any pre- or post-sale system design, security and network integration issues that may arise. These services are also available to

Standard Warranty customers at standard rates. Among the Professional Services offered are:

• Complete wireless system design and planning services, including AP layout
• Site surveys (Although minimal RF planning is required with the Belden Wireless Solution, a comprehensive engineering survey can be provided to help secure the requirements of the bid or IT/engineering requirements.)
• Consulting and review of the wireless proposal and specifications with engineering
• Complete system integration (wireless LAN to the wired LAN)
• Troubleshooting services for particularly complex WLAN installations, such as in industrial manufacturing plants and warehouse/distribution centers
• Security assessments and advanced wireless intrusion and prevention solutions (WIPs)

Both the Standard Warranty and ActiveTAC Extended Service Programs provide for access to Belden’s User Portal containing product alerts and bulletins, best practices documentation, and firmware upgrade information and release notes.
