Barrie, Ontario. Tourism Month in Canada, is an opportunity to celebrate the many ways "Tourism Makes Canada Smile" and to raise awareness among Canadians and their governments of its tremendous economic and social importance. Coordinated by the Tourism Industry Association of Canada, it provides a focal point for activities and events planned across the country by individual businesses, provincial, territorial and regional tourism industry associations, destination marketing organizations and others.
Here in the Highway 400 and Highway 11 corridors, many of the 400 Eleven members have June Getaway packages, including fishing, golf and spa packages.

Tourism is a $55 billion industry that keeps 1.6 million Canadians employed. Less tangible but just as important are the opportunities
tourism gives Canadians to discover and enjoy their country, and to develop a greater understanding of their fellow citizens.

"Tourism contributes so much to the standard of living and quality of life in Canada and here in the 400eleven corridor, north of Toronto, tourism is the primary economic engine that stimulates the economy of many towns, cities and rural regions.” states Ron Taylor, President of 400Eleven.com
"Clearly, tourism gives us a lot to smile about all year long." adds Taylor
