Agility Recovery Solutions Joins National Preparedness Month

August 05, 2007 (PRLEAP.COM) Business News
Agility Recovery Solutions, a leading provider of disaster recovery and business continuity solutions, is partnering with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and its National Preparedness Month initiative, which is in September. National Preparedness Month is a nationwide effort aimed at encouraging Americans to prepare for emergencies in their homes, businesses and communities.

“Developing a plan and identifying preparedness and response resources within our communities are simple steps we can take to prepare ourselves, our family, business and community,” said Bob Boyd, president and CEO of Agility. “America’s businesses form the backbone of our economy; small businesses alone account for more than 99 percent of employers and provide nearly 45 percent of the nation’s payroll. Yet, these businesses are those who have traditionally been unprepared for the unexpected with an executable business continuity plan.”

Based on nearly 20 years of business continuity planning and recovery experience, Agility developed a Web seminar series for National Preparedness Month. Free Webinars will be presented Wednesdays in September, from 2 to 3 p.m. EDT. Topics include:

Sept. 5, 2007 - Crisis Management
Sept. 12, 2007 - Pandemic Planning
Sept. 19, 2007 - Human Side of BCP
Sept. 26, 2007 - 10 Steps to Business Preparedness

The goal of the Webinar series is to help businesses begin or update their business recovery planning initiatives with defined action steps to address the four key elements of recovery: power, space, technology and connectivity. The educational seminars are open to the general public. Additionally, Agility will work with its partners and team member network to encourage individuals and organizations to proactively take action in their communities to prepare for the unexpected. “When an emergency or interruption occurs, our biggest defense is preparedness,” said Boyd. “Agility believes that every business – regardless of size – should have access to business continuity services that are simple and easy to use. National Preparedness Month is the perfect venue for us to educate businesses on the recovery resources required and available.”
