Five Dollars for an SAT Point: DC Based AVE Announces Results-Based SAT Training

Washington, DC (PRLeap) August 7, 2007 — Elite educational powerhouse Arvin Vohra Education (AVE) will be launching a risk-free results based SAT training program, in which clients will pay five dollars per point of SAT score improvement. The Pay for Points Program is designed to be an affordable yet rigorous long-term SAT training program.

With its $200 per hour tutoring rates, AVE has traditionally focused on the top end of the private education and SAT prepl market. The Pay for Points Program will allow AVE to reach a broader audience. "As demand for our tutoring services have increased, our programs have become unintentionally exclusive," stated Arvin Vohra, AVE's Program Director. "Not everyone can afford to pay $200 per hour for private tutoring. The Pay for Points Program makes rigorous, long-term, SAT preparation. For around the price of a low-quality, mass market SAT program, clients can now access AVE's world-class, long term, uncompromisingly rigorous educational services."

Unlike standard SAT courses, the Pay for Points Program does not focus exclusively on test-taking strategy. According to Mr. Vohra, "This is not a course that focuses on 'backsolve', 'plug-in', or the process of elimination. This is a course in which students build the reading ability and mathematics reasoning skills, in order to realistically target score improvements greater than 400 points. Comparing this to a standard SAT course is like comparing Olympic training to an elementary school gym class."

Mr. Vohra also indicated that the Pay for Points Program, although an important experiment, does not indicate a fundamental shift in philosophy for AVE. "Our primary focus will continue to be the ultra high end of the educational market. But we are excited to be able to reach the mid-range while maintaining our uncompromising standards."
