SCOTTSDALE, Arizona – Is your community in need of a clean up? From now until August 17, anyone can nominate a neighborhood, community, park, or other common area in need of an aesthetic boost on www.henkelhelps.com. If your nomination is selected, a team of Henkel employees will visit your town to pitch in and clean up your community. From planting flowers to picking up litter, the Henkel Brand Like a Friend Bus is ready to roll into your town and get started.

“Our company vision is to make people’s lives easier, better and more beautiful, so on top of donating the money needed to get the job done, we will also be offering our time and manpower, which we feel can make even more of an impact than just the money,” said Henkel spokesperson Natalie Violi. “We’re ready to paint, pull weeds, plant gardens, whatever the winning neighborhood needs or the nominator suggests. We’re ready to get to work.”

In addition to offering the service of hard work and elbow grease, the Henkel bus will also be packed with giveaways, ranging from hand soap and detergent to air fresheners and household cleaners. Consumers all over the country can go to www.henkelhelps.com to enter to win a prize pack of Henkel products worth $200. Henkel products include popular brands like Dial® soap, Purex® laundry detergent, Renuzit® air fresheners, Soft Scrub® household cleaners and Soft & Dri ® and Right Guard® antiperspirant and deodorants Henkel will be giving away one prize pack per week

So who are the Henkel employees in the crew? Henkel is holding an internal employee essay contest within its Scottsdale office to determine the members of the Brand Like a Friend Crew. “We are excited that employees will play a significant role in supporting this program. This opportunity is something we consider to be an honor for our employees to be involved in,” Violi said. “We’re trying to find the most passionate employees who believe in our vision statement and consider community service to be a reward rather than an inconvenience,” she added. Employees will be chosen based on their written essay, community involvement, performance and various other factors.
