Airdri, one of the world's leading manufacturers of warm air hand driers, has launched a new re-styled version of its fast, robust and versatile Classic model for 21st Century washrooms.

Manufactured in the UK, the new Classic is available in a choice of models that dry the hands or face in around 20 seconds. Designed to last, the extremely robust heavy duty casing is vandal resistant and available in white, black and chrome finishes.

A fully automatic version with an infra-red sensor system offers the ultimate in hygiene and eliminates the risks of cross infection completely. By detecting the presence of hands under the air outlet, the sensor automatically switches the drier on. The drier switches itself off automatically a few seconds after hands are removed. As an alternative, manual versions incorporating the latest technology touch controls are also available.

The Classic has been designed using proven motor, fan and heater assemblies in a stylish and exceptionally durable die-cast aluminium housing or superior vitreous enamelled cast iron cover. The result is a drier that offers exceptional quality and value, requiring the minimum of maintenance.

The new Classic is ideal for use in a wide range of applications including industrial/factory, offices, hotels and catering establishments.

Specifications encompass power consumption of 10A at 240V, nominal output of 2.4/2.0kW at 240/220V respectively, drying time of approximately 20 seconds, sensor range of 100mm vertically beneath outlet, air volume of 230m³/h, air velocity of 22m/s, air outlet temperature of 50 C at 20 C ambient and operating noise level of 74dB(A). Dimensions are 348 x 260 x 180mm with unit weight of 5.8kg (12.3kg for cast iron models).

Airdri's new Classic was used in a recent Life Cycle Analysis study by independent research organisation Environmental Resources Management which concluded that the use of hand driers results in a smaller environmental footprint than the use of paper towels.
