The release of Radiux follows on the heels of Google’s universal search announcement. It indicates a trend to respond to consumer requests for more convenient tools to search the Internet. While Google’s universal search combines the search for web, video, images and news, Radiux currently combines searches for Google, Craigslist, eBay, Amazon and Wikipedia results, making it the best start page for most Internet users. Other search options are currently under development and users will be able to pick their favorite search solutions which are displayed on top of their personal search box.
Radiux utilizes Geo-IP recognition to provide more relevant results for local searches. GeoIP technology utilizes the Internet users IP address to determine which area a request is coming from. Services like Radiux are able to provide more localized results without having to ask the user to enter his or her location. Radiux also provides various display modes for search results to increase usability and user experience.
