More than 70 of the UK’s most talented designer makers will gather at Chelsea Old Town Hall on The Kings’ Road in November for Handmade 2007 (www.handmadeinbritain.co.uk). The show is a celebration and sale of fine, hand-made art and crafts from England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

The ‘Handmade 2007@Chelsea Old Town Hall’ event takes place from Tuesday 27th – Friday 30th November 2007* (12pm to 8pm except Friday, 10am – 5.30pm). It is a show which focuses on quality, design and style, with a wide range of unique one-off or limited edition products available either to view, purchase or to commission. Many of the designer makers are already known for their work, and the remainder have been chosen as representing the new, emerging talent in their particular areas of expertise.

Those attending the show will be able to choose from hand-crafted jewellery, fashion accessories, ceramics, tableware millinery, stationery and a broad choice of home accessories.

The Handmade in Britain organisation that have arranged the show strive to maintain the highest standards in the crafts sector - Handmade in Britain promotes the cream of the crop of the industry and also helps to develop and support new upcoming designer makers and crafts people as well as emerging eco-conscious designers. The show will display the work of the current and undoubtedly the future talent of the fine arts and crafts world, with many experienced designer makers exhibiting alongside designers from the Royal College of Art, and Central St. Martins College of Art and Design London.

With works from the likes of elusive jewellery designer Joanne Thompson, London inspired tableware designer Katie Adams, award winning metalworker Keith Tyssen and eco- conscious fashion designer Sophia Musoke, to name a few, it will be an event for an extra special Christmas shopping gift spree whatever it is you intend to buy that special person.

Handmade 2007 is the brainchild of luxury fashion and home accessories designer Piyush Suri, who said of the event: “It is a rare and exciting opportunity for people to view and buy from a selection of the very best British handcrafted designs. We are delighted to be supporting new and fresh upcoming talent from the class of 2007 and enabling their work to be more accessible to the public – it is going to be an amazingly unique event!”
