HORNE INTERNATIONAL AND ENVIANCE JOIN FORCES TO IMPLEMENT ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT INFORMATION SYSTEM FOR U.S. ARMY

August 17, 2007 (PRLEAP.COM) Politics News
Fairfax, VA and Carlsbad, CA — August 17, 2007 — Horne International, Inc. (OTCBB: HNIN) and Enviance, Inc., have forged an alliance to provide the U.S. Army with a real-time, online system for strengthening the U.S. Army’s environmental, health and safety (EH&S) compliance activities while saving taxpayer dollars.

This forward-reaching partnership blends the expertise of two leaders in the area of environmental compliance. Horne has provided environmental support to the Army, including the Army Environmental Command and the Regional Environmental Offices, for 14 years and has in-depth knowledge of the Army’s environmental systems, approaches, and constraints. Enviance is the leading innovator and provider of Internet-based, on-demand systems for the management and automation of EH&S compliance activities. The Enviance System currently is in use at more then 3,000 public and private facilities.

Horne International and Enviance recently worked together at Anniston Army Depot, Alabama, and Fort Detrick, Maryland, and demonstrated the value of an environmental management information system for these installations. This effort supported the National Defense Center for Environmental Excellence, which was tasked to demonstrate, at multiple Department of Defense sites, a Web-based application for consolidating and managing an environmental management system and any compliance data consistently across an organization. Enviance’s technology will enable each installation to track important regulatory commitments, manage associated tasks, prepare reports, and maintain a current record of environmental requirements. Horne International Chairman, President and CEO Darryl K. Horne said that the purpose of the new agreement is to “offer a one-of-a-kind environmental support service that brings the benefits of the Enviance system to military installations nationwide. The Army spends billions of dollars on environmental compliance. The Enviance system is an industry best practice that will enable the Army to reduce those costs while enhancing environmental performance.”

The Enviance System is an Internet-based service that centrally manages in real-time all aspects of regulatory compliance, dramatically improving operational efficiency. Because the Enviance system is the only compliance management platform based on software as a service (SaaS), costs are kept low. No software or hardware installations are required on the customer’s end, so the customer can immediately access the system. “Already being used by leading companies and organizations in over 35 countries, the Enviance System has demonstrated a high level of flexibility, enabling us to manage diverse compliance program requirements around the world,” said Lawrence Goldenhersh, President and CEO of Enviance. “Working with a leader like Horne International will help us expand this powerful platform throughout the Army and to other federal agencies to better manage critical issues such as homeland security.”

Horne added, “We are already looking beyond this Army-focused initiative and exploring other opportunities afforded by Horne International’s experience in the government services sector and Enviance’s experience in the commercial sector. This relationship holds great promise for both companies, for our customers, and for our environment.”
