Golf Event & Dinner to benefit Temple University Scholarship Named for Late Restaurant Promoter, Friend and Family Man John Mannino
(PRLEAP.COM) Philadelphia, PA - August 17, 2007— A golf outing and celebration set for Monday, October, 1, 2007 will raise funds for a scholarship named for the late John F. Mannino of Broomall, PA, who died in 2004 after a one-year battle with brain cancer. He was the always charismatic co-owner of The Restaurant Collection with life-partner Patti Klein. With John’s warm smile and huge heart, he possessed the wonderful gift of making people feel special. A lover of great food, traveling, the Philadelphia Phillies & Eagles, he made a lifelong impression on everyone he met. Those who knew him are touched by his warmth, unselfishness and his unfaltering love of life.
The event will take place on October 1, 2007 at the Pine Hill Golf Club in Pine Hill, NJ with registration and lunch beginning at 10:30 AM and a shotgun start at noon. An open bar and silent auction follows at The Prime Rib, 1701 Locust Street, Philadelphia at 6pm, followed by dinner, awards and live auction at 7pm. To participate in the entire day for an individual the cost is $325 and $1100 for a foursome. Not a golfer? To attend the auction, open bar and dinner only is $150 per person. Sponsorships begin at $350 and the event will again be sponsored by the Philadelphia Convention & Visitors Bureau and the funds raised will benefit the John Mannino Scholarship Fund at the Temple University School of Tourism & Hospitality Management.
The scholarship fund has been established at Temple University School of Hospitality and Tourism in John Manino’s memory. The hope is for the fund to become an endowment to ensure help to those pursuing an education in the hospitality and tourism field.
