Merger creates region's largest immigration law firm

(PRLEAP.COM) DENVER (August 18, 2007) – Responding to the likelihood of immigration reform and increasing demand from corporate clients for hard-to-find researchers and technology professionals, the boutique immigration law firms of Stern Elkind & Curray and Carter & Alterman have merged effective August 1.

With 10 attorneys, 15 paralegals and a staff of more than 40, the new firm, Stern Elkind Curray & Alterman, is the largest law firm dedicated to immigration in the Rocky Mountain region.

Attorney Emily Curray has been named the firm’s new managing partner.

“Immigration reform in the next few years is inevitable, and will only make immigration more complex for businesses and families,” Curray said, adding that “Our lawyers understand the business decisions and compliance issues that companies face when employing foreign professionals. “We can help owners, human resource managers and general counsel make the personnel decisions necessary to maintain their competitive advantage in an increasingly global economy.”

Those considerations include crafting temporary and permanent visa solutions for employers, assisting foreign entrepreneurs and investors, and advising employers regarding compliance with federal and state immigration-related laws, Curray said.

The new firm can provide services in 9 different languages, including Mandarin Chinese, Spanish, German and Hindi.

The new firm will occupy Stern Elkind and Curray’s current offices at 650 S. Cherry Street, Suite 900, Denver, Colorado, phone (303) 632-0111, fax (303) 692-0505. For more information, visit www.secalaw.com.
