Orange County Blues Rockin’ Festival at the OC Pavilion on September 22

The OC Pavilion (www.ocpavilion.com) is pleased to welcome the Orange County Blues Rockin' Festival on September 22, 2007 at 6PM. This 5 hour event features some of the west coast's best blues rock performers.

The evening event is headlined by Jumpin' Jack Benny, the Laurie Morvan Band, White Boy James, and The Lubricators. The OC Pavilion will offer a full bar and food stations in the lobby of the main theater.

JUMPIN’ JACK BENNY
Jumpin’ Jack Benny is a Blues Rock band headed up by Benjamin Cortez on vocals and harmonica, performing shows throughout the U.S. & Worldwide. The band formed in 2006 with band members Tony "Fingers" Naranjo on Guitar, Mick Stover on Bass, Eric Tice on Drums and Danny Ayala on Keyboard. Frontman "Jumpin' Jack" Benny is a South Central, Los Angeles native. He infuses each song with a high - powered blend of blistering rhythm and soulful blues, drawing upon vocal legends like Sonny Boy Williamson and the passion of Koko Taylor, with a touch of Stevie Ray Vaughan.

LAURIE MORVAN BAND
Inspired by the guitar-driven blues of Lynyrd Skynyrd, 38 Special, Marshall Tucker Band, the Eagles, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Robert Johnson, Luther Allison, Etta James and Big Mama Thornton, Laurie is one of the leading female blues rock guitarist of all time. She has recorded 3 albums, writing 30 of the 33 tracks. Her latest album, Cures What Ails Ya, released in March of 2007, has received critical acclaim from local and national Blues critics.

WHITEBOY JAMES
“Whiteboy” James Page, lead vocals and harmonica, was born in Compton and found inspiration in the soul sounds of Cab Calloway, Louis Jordan, Sam “Lightning” Hopkins, Big Joe Turner, Elvis, Jerry Lee Lewis, Bob Wills and Spike Jones. The band was first established in the mid-1980s through the 1990’s and stopped playing in the early 2000’s. The band has since regrouped and is touring again even better than before. The current line-up of the Blues Express are Scott Abeyta (Guitar), Anthony Contreras (Guitar), Blake Watson (Bass), and “Hollywood Hank” Deluxe (Drums).

THE LUBRICATORS
Comprised of veteran performers from the Southern California Blues scene, The Lubricators, comprised of Michael “Mick the Hatchet” Foster (harmonica and vocals), Billy “Charcoal” Foster (guitar), Jerry “Blonde Lemon” Luithle (bass), Dave “The Doc” Sprock (drums, vocals) and Barry Levenson (guitar), have brought down the house at venues such as The Orange County Blues Festival, Pier 52, Whiskey Creek, and more. The band has appeared on the bill with performers Etta James, Albert King, Otis Brown, Canned Heat, John Lee Hooker and more.
