Shoeboxed.com more popular than Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey

(PRLEAP.COM) BERLIN, Germany – Shoeboxed.com is more popular than power-ballad divas Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey combined. That’s according to the results of a recent study conducted using data from the well-known video-streaming website, YouTube.

The team at shoeboxed.com posted a video of a friendly talking camel on YouTube three days ago—the same day that “perniluu,” a registered YouTube user, posted a video of Houston and Carey performing “When You Believe.” Today, the shoeboxed.com video has nearly seven times as many views as the famous performance.

“I’ve dreamt about a successful website that automatically organizes your receipts, but I can’t say that I’ve ever dreamt something as big as this,” said Taylor Mingos, founder and CEO of the successful website. “What do you do when two of your childhood heroes now stand in your shadow?”

No one was as shocked as Shoeboxed’s chief marketing officer, Alexandra Oliveira, who received the news while singing along to the soundtrack of “The Body Guard”. “It was like Whitney was speaking to me through her music! I WILL always love you!” shouted Oliveira, adding, “Does this mean we’re eligible for a Grammy?”

Evidence of the website’s popularity seems to have overshadowed the release of an innovative feature that will allow users to organize and manage all types of receipts—whether from online or offline stores. But for now, the team is enjoying the positive attention.

“One day you’re just organizing people’s receipts, and the next, you’re doing it better than Whitney and Mariah,” Mingos said.
