DofM Adopts Raleigh Arts Commission as 2007 Pro Bono Client

(PRLEAP.COM) RALEIGH, N.C. – August 31, 2007 – The Department of Marketing (“DofM”), an award-winning marketing and public relations firm, has adopted the City of Raleigh Arts Commission (CORAC) as its pro bono client for 2007. As Raleigh’s official advisory body and advocate for the arts, the City of Raleigh Arts Commission has worked for 30 years creating a climate in which the arts can thrive.

The DofM will assist the Arts Commission with messaging, marketing and community relations. Initial projects include promoting ART-ON-THE-MOVE, a new public art project sponsored by the Arts Commission in partnership with Capital Area Transit (CAT). Twelve artists’ submissions have been selected to be emblazoned on the side of CAT buses traveling around the city for a period of up to one year.

“We are eager to put our creative services to work for the City of Raleigh Arts Commission,” said George Wallace, managing partner of The Department of Marketing. “With their passion to enrich the community and our ability to take their message to local citizens, we have a winning combination that will make Raleigh an even better place to live.”

“The Department of Marketing has shown incredible creativity and enthusiasm,” said June Guralnick, executive director of the Arts Commission. “We are already benefiting from their out-of-the-box ideas and Raleigh as a whole will benefit from their commitment to creating a great, culturally-rich city.”
