Financial aid for online training and degree programs is available through Federal grants.

(PRLEAP.COM) Students seeking financial aid for higher education can start their search online at eLearningYellowPages.com. Until 2006, students enrolled in online degree programs had to have half of their program campus-based in order to qualify for federal student grants. With the repeal of the “50-percent rule,” federal student aid in the form of federal loans, grants and work-study became available in the U.S. for students enrolled in eligible online degree programs at accredited institutions.

Federal Student Aid, which is an office of the U.S. Department of Education, processes 14 million financial aid applications and distributes more than $80 billion to students through schools annually.

Says Carrie Sommer, marketing director for eLearningYellowPages.com, “The cost of college tuition has been steadily rising. Attending a private college or university in the U.S. can cost $21,235 a year and $5,491 a year at a four-year public university. At eLearningYellowPages.com, we have a wide variety of resources together in one place to aid students seeking financial aid and scholarships. Many of them can be used for continuing education courses and online education.”
