Yuwie might be the most ingenious concept in social networking ever designed. Yuwie is a site similar to Myspace, but with one big difference. Yuwie pays its users for “hanging around” their site and inviting others to do the same. Another unique aspect of Yuwie, is those not familiar with social networking sites, can view an informational video that explains how the process works: http://www.yuwie.com/yuwie.asp?r=219.

Yuwie began in June of 2007. Korry, the developer of Yuwie, when asked how he came up with this ingeneous concept, replied, “I was sick of seeing companies like Myspace make more than $20 million dollars a month on advertising. Why not give some of that back to the people?” Currently, YUWIE has 40,000 users and seems to be growing at an exponential speed.

Revenue is shared based on the number of page views the user accumulates during a monthly time period. Page views are defined as when a user personally views a page on the site, when one’s referrals view a page on the site, or when another member views one of the user’s photos, videos, profile, blogs, etc.

Every month YUWIE calculates how much money is received from advertisers, figures out how much a page view is worth, and then pays the user based on the number of pages views they have for that month.
