The skill gaming company SkillEmpire is upgrading its servers to allow better performances and provide support for its increasing number of online players. The owner and operator of the online backgammon website play65 and the online pool site play89 will upgrade its server infrastructure at the beginning of September.

SkillEmpire, which operates the online games sites play65 and play89, announced upgrading its entire server infrastructure due to the growing demand of the company online games.The upgrading process is scheduled to the first week of September and due to the update, The company's servers and online games will be down for approximately 24 hours starting on the evening of Tuesday, September 4, 2007..

According to SkillEmpire spokesperson, the new platform will support about 50,000 users simultaneously. The upgrading of SkillEmpire servers is planned to ease the burden put on the company servers following the launch of SkillEmpire pool room Play89 earlier this year. Currently, SkillEmpire can support about 20,000 online backgammon and online pool players at the same time.
